And for the second year running, the Myrtle Beach area has been named the most moved-to place in the United States, according to PODS Moving and Storage.
What Cities In The Carolinas Are Popular For Relocation?
Myrtle Beach, Wilmington, North Carolina, and six other cities in the Carolinas made the top 20 list for 2024, highlighting the growing appeal of both South Carolina and North Carolina as top destinations. Key areas attracting new residents include Greenville/Spartanburg in South Carolina and Raleigh and Charlotte in North Carolina.
PODS attributes this trend to a lower cost of living, access to nature, and a high quality of life. The Carolinas offer a mild climate with four distinct seasons and proximity to both mountains and the ocean.
According to PODS, this movement is part of a larger trend of people relocating to the Southern Appalachian region, with cities in Tennessee and Georgia also making the top 20 list.
